How YAC Sparked My Journey in Journalism

My journey as a writer started in the small town of Elizabeth City, N.C., where I joined the Young Authors Club (YAC) at just nine years old. That camp wasn't just about putting pen to paper, it was a place where I discovered the power of storytelling and realized that words could take me places, I’d only dreamed of!

Now, with a bachelor’s degree in multi-platform journalism, I can look back and say that YAC laid the foundation for a career I’m deeply passionate about. Writing gave me a voice, and that spark I found in YAC continues to fuel my work today as a young journalist.
